Linksys Wireless Router Technical Support

Technical support is one of the strengths of the Linksys brand. In fact, I have always felt that whenever we buy a product, we assume that we are never going to need any help or that no problems are ever going to occur and generally the technical support details that come with the box are grossly ignored.

But it is a fact that I would never buy a product that may have received very good reviews about its performance but lacks in technical support. After all it is must that every company backs its products with a strong support base in order to serve their customers better. And this is exactly the USP of Linksys besides its fantastic product range.

I recently purchased the wireless router from Linksys - WRT54GX4 Wireless-G Broadband Router with SRX400. Of course needless to say, I found that it was an excellent product. If you are considering buying a broadband wireless router then I would highly recommend this router, allow me to give you an introduction to it. This surpasses the standard Wireless G by far and it is based on the new MIMO (multiple in, multiple out) technology that is responsible for a very high data rate and great range coverage with fewer dead spots.

In fact it is a three-in-one product, you will receive a Wireless Access Point, 4 Port 10/100 Network Switch and the Router. Besides this the box holds the set-up CD, power adapter, an Ethernet network cable and the registration card. It is extremely light and made of a sturdy plastic. There are also two antennae which can be swiveled to the desired direction. There is a built-in firewall for security and you can choose the kind of security of network you wish with WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA (Industrial strength WiFi Protected Access) options.

Of course I was impressed with their product. But then I encountered a problem because I was using my USB port and I wasn't aware that their set up process, even with the CD, requires the use of the internet so there I was stuck and had to buy another Ethernet cable, that is apart form the one that Linksys always includes in their box. After that, when I was trying to figure out the security system I just couldn't having no experience with wireless routers so I thought it was best to contact the tech guys and with just a short wait I could chat with someone who guided me through the whole process and I was done in a few minutes.

Even while logging onto their site, I almost always find what I need myself. Their site contains an extensive technical support department that you can use and it contains help for each of their products with downloads and user help guides. They also have community forums if you just don't have the patience for one question and think it is better to ask in an open community where there are others who use Linksys and can give you honest opinions as well as offer to share their experiences and help you with any difficulty that might arise.
